What’s Your Cancellation Policy?

Suppose, for some reason, at any time during the engagement, and you are not satisfied with the service provided by your Tax Pro. In that case, you may cancel your return preparation by informing your Pro via email or Chat provided by the platform.

Please note that the tax preparer may request payment (if any) based on the engagement terms that were disclosed to you by the tax preparer during the engagement.

Our Pros generally follow the following guidelines.

  • Before Work Request Starts – Suppose you request a cancellation of services before choosing a Tax Pro within the platform (or before your Tax Pro begins communication through chat). In that case, no cancellation fee or service fee will apply.
  • Work Request has started – If you request a cancellation after your Tax Pro has communicated with you or begun their review of your documents (i.e., Work Request just started but either you or the Tax Pro are not fully engaged in the discussion of your return), a cancellation fee equal to 25 % of your quote will apply.
  • Work Request in progress – If you request a cancellation after your Pro has picked up your engagement, communicated with you, and begun reviewing your documents, a cancellation fee of 40% of your quote will apply.
  • Work Request is almost complete – If you request a cancellation after your Pro has drafted/substantially completed your tax return, a cancellation fee of 70% of your quote will apply.
  • Work Request is complete – If you request a refund after a draft of your return has been completed and shared with you, a cancellation fee of 90% of your quote will apply.

Suppose, for some reason, at any time during the engagement, you are not satisfied with the service provided by your Tax Pro. In that case, you may qualify for a money-back guarantee depending on the claims and evidence submitted by you, at the sole discretion of NexGen Taxes and the Tax Pro.
